The speakers, Maxim Isyp and Oleg Zaretsky, went beyond presenting the project: they answered the audience’s most pressing questions about the future of transport in the region and the benefits for the technology’s co-owners.

Tangible savings and safety

Inadequate logistics remains one of the main barriers to Africa’s economic development. The conference included an open discussion of why conventional transport initiatives on the continent often reach a dead end. One striking example was the unfinished Port Harcourt Monorail, despite hundreds of millions of dollars having been invested in it.

The primary problem is the astronomical cost of conventional solutions. uST transport is several times less expensive and offers more than just a transport route: it enables integrated infrastructure development corridors that lay the foundation for new settlements, energy infrastructure, and job creation.

In addition to cost, safety is critical for the region. Participants asked how the track structure would be protected from natural disasters and external interference. The speakers explained the engineering in detail: because the steel rail is held under immense tension between anchor towers, even damage to intermediate supports would not cause the line to collapse—it would retain its load-bearing capacity.

Collective action that accelerates progress

As Maxim Isyp noted, string transport could give Africa an economic boost comparable to the introduction of railways. However, the success of this process also depends on our collective efforts. The expansion of Micron Global’s local partner networks, every conference, and every new participant increase awareness of the project and generate demand, bringing global commercialization and monetization closer step by step.
